daa International Delivers New JFK Lounge

April 13, 2015

daa International has completed its latest airport lounge project with the opening of the new Aer Lingus Gold Circle lounge in New York’s JFK Terminal 5. This is the fifth executive lounge that daa International has delivered for Aer Lingus in recent years. It coincides with the launch of the new business class product on Aer Lingus services.

The new €2.55 million lounge is located in the recently completed international extension to JFK’s award-winning Terminal 5, which Aer Lingus shares with its partner airline JetBlue. The lounge comprises 380 square metres of prime space with stunning views of Eero Saarinen’s iconic TWA Terminal at JFK, which is a United States national heritage site. Seating 72 passengers, facilities in the lounge include a full service private dining area, work zone, quiet area and dedicated shower facilities.

The lounge will transform the experience at Terminal 5 for Aer Lingus Gold Circle members, who until now had used a small lounge facility in the terminal provided by JetBlue. The new lounge gives Aer Lingus customers a sense of home before they even board the aircraft as the lounge features the celebrated style and décor of other lounges in the Aer Lingus network, all of which have been designed and delivered through daa International.

Project services were provided by Barrie Whelan of AMD, who successfully handled the project and design management.

The Aer Lingus Gold Circle lounge in London Heathrow Terminal 2, which was delivered through daa International in 2014, was recently named as one of the top 10 airport executive lounges in the world by the Irish Times.

daa International has now delivered over 25,000 sq ft of lounge space for Aer Lingus in strategic international airport locations, with a capital value of close to €10 million. April 2015
